Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian artist and singer. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco's songs are classified as folk and alternative rock. However, they also have influences from hip hop music, jazz and punk. Ani Difranco is recognized as an icon for feminist music. In the year 1990 she was one of the first artists to create her own independent record label. The parents of DiFranco, Elizabeth (Ross), a previous student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were both attending.
